Who we are:
Big Bear's Gym is Rick and Anna McClung. In 2000 we opened Big Bear's Gym in Newport Oregon. Big Bear's Gym was one of the best gyms on the Oregon Coast and known nationally in the powerlifting and bodybuilding world. Due to Rick's love of powerlifting, and his own world record holding, competitive endeavors, Big Bear's Gym has been featured in several magazines and online publications. Big Bear's Gym has been known for producing several very gifted powerlifters and bodybuilders. Rick is a powerlifting coach and APF judge. He is the standing APF president for the State of Oregon. Anna ran Big Bear's Gym and is the webmaster for bigbearsgym.com.
After 7 years we decided to close Big Bear's Gym on December 31st 2007. We are still maintaining our business on the web. We have a store on our website called, "The Bear Cave" where we sell Harbinger weight training gloves and T-shirts with our logos on them. We also own Village Nautilus, a 24 hour private; upscale fitness center in Yachats Oregon. We are powerlifting meet promoters, putting on occasional "RAW" powerlifting meets, and are active with powerlifting for the Oregon Special Olympics. |
